Brian has always enjoyed the outdoors and has an interest in the natural world. Having studied Applied Biology and taken a degree in Crop Production science at Agricultural College, Brian then worked for a number of years in this discipline before getting involved in education. This was sparked by his interest in how his own children were learning. Brian took a Primary PGCE and spent time teaching in the Midlands in Primary schools, finishing as a deputy head in Staffordshire. The great outdoors called and opportunity knocked, enabling him to leave the classroom to join FACE. This coincided with moving to a small holding in Shropshire; the perfect setting to look after the various foster children he and his family have supported over quite a few years, as well as farming!
After a short break from FACE to develop the farm and support looked after children, he is delighted to be back in his role with FACE. The best thing? Meeting others who have a similar passion for education beyond the classroom walls. In his spare time Brian works on improving the farm habitat and enjoys countryside walks with his dogs.
