Kids Country’s annual Winter Warmer Soup Challenge is well under way. This week saw the East of England Showground host the second stage of the competition where 8 teams of young chefs went head to head in a soup cook off putting their creative recipe ideas into delicious practice.
Throughout the day the soups were judged by the Showground’s team of catering professionals, Amadeus, who had the tough job of deciding the 3 best soups based on team work, cooking skills, presentation and of course, taste! This year, for the first time, the judges chose 4 teams to go through to the final stage of the competition.
The 4 finalist teams are Guyhirn Primary School with their Delicious Autumn Soup, Monkshouse Primary School and their Warming up for Winter Soup, Boston St Mary’s with a Winter Wonderland Welcoming Soup, and Billing Brook School with their Butternut Squash and Sage Soup.
The final which takes place at the Central England Cooperative on Friday 30th November, will see the finalists’ soups be put to the taste test by the general public who will have the deciding vote on who will be crowned the Winter Warmer Soup Challenge winner 2018.
