National Competition for Food, Farming and Environment with exclusive prize.

Win an activity filled weekend away for your students and a programme of CPD for teachers in beautiful North Wales in the Vale of Clwyd - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – and be crowned Innovation School of the Year 2018 in Food, Farming and Environment.

The prize of the weekend experience will take place on Friday 29th June until Sunday 1st July 2018.

You will live, work and enjoy life on a real working commercial farm at Llysfasi college Ruthin, North Wales. The land based college has departments in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Animal Care, Countryside Management and Forestry. The college has a 1000 acre working farm with dairy cows, sheep, beef cattle, crops, forestry and an animal management centre.

The weekend prize will be for the schools that best answer the questions on the flyer below and the winning teams will be from 5 schools – each with 1 teacher and 3 students (age 14-16).

The weekend will be made up of engaging activities based around the college farm. You will milk cows, see sheep shearing, investigate our animal centre, interact with calves, have a go at driving a tractor and quadbikes and much more, and enjoy living on a farm. The weekend will have a range of educational topics, and your school team will compete during the weekend on a challenge - the winning school team will be crowned the ‘Innovation school of the year 2018 in food, farming and environment.’

The questions on the entry form below are to be answered by the teacher who has the passion for food, farming and environment and should be completed and returned to by Friday 20th April 2018.

The winning schools will have their profiles promoted across the media, including on Countryside Classroom – reaching over 65,000 teachers per year.
