Engaging young people in food and farming is vitally important; both to the future of the agricultural industry as well as for their own health and wellbeing.
LEAF is inviting you to find out first-hand from teenagers, their views and ideas around farming and how their food is produced. Come and listen to their ideas, discuss the issues that matter most to them and identify strategies that will ignite young people’s interest in food production and food provenance.
LEAF, supported by Rothamsted Research has undertaken extensive primary research to gain greater insight into how today’s young people view farming and to gauge their level of understanding and interest in where their food comes from. The results of this ground-breaking piece of research will be shared at the conference and debated in workshops. There will also be a programme of inspiring speakers sharing ideas and experiences of their work in this area with teenagers.
Aimed at farmers, teachers, educationalists, policy makers and researchers, this one-day conference will bring together leading experts from across the farming, food, education and communications sectors. All with a particular focus on the 12 to 18 year old age group. We will explore new ideas, fresh thinking and novel innovations to inspire and mobilise future generations about farming and its role in addressing some of the most pressing issues of our time.Book tickets
