Global dimension workshops

Core to LEAF Education's work is the provision of  educational resources, advice and workshops relating to environmental matters with a global impact.

Always popular in schools are sessions about the global dimension and fair trade.

LEAF Education's regional team works in a wide variety of ways to contribute to these activities. They attend eco-conferences to offer workshops and provide stimulation for classroom work to encourage children to think about important topics connected to the environment such as food waste and seasonality. Often they will introduce a farmer to the teachers or children with whom they are working so that they can see the perspective of someone who is growing and rearing their food.

Our Consultant in Wales, Jane Powell, has written a blog which demonstrates how children investigate values – they learn through their discussions, what really matters to them as individuals and teaches them to look more closely at our food and how it is produced.
